Notes: Ants

“I’m telling you that’s how it was.”

he laughed, she belted…

“and you thought I was the one who was strange”

Another stream of shoulder carried chuckles.

“So really you dreamt of ants carrying sugar?”

“Yes, outsourcing, I told my boss if we could manage to employ millions of ants to carry sugar, lessen the costs of exports”

“and how do you know the ants would reach their intended destination, wouldn’t they enjoy the sugar for themselves?”

“no”, a hit on my leg, she giggled, her shoulders bounced up and down, I rolled on my side and kissed her knee as she put up her hair with clips and pins.

Ants I thought, ants carrying sugar… millions of ants carrying sugar.

I imagined them, and followed their journey sweet into nectar…
